Josie McDermott

Registered Legal Executive

Q and A with Josie

Why did you become a legal executive?

I enjoyed working in a law firm, so undertaking the legal executive course and becoming a legal executive seemed a logical progression from being a legal secretary.

When you are not being a legal executive what do you like doing most?

Cooking, going to the gym, walking my dogs, meeting up with friends and family and also, when I’m able, overseas intrepid travels.

Where is your special place in the region?

Anywhere by the sea.

What is your favourite shop/restaurant?

Thyme café and Twiglands garden centre next door in Churton Park, because I can combine meeting friends for coffee and buying plants in the same visit.

How would you describe your style of practice?

Thorough but efficient and always looking at how I can do things better and more efficiently for the clients.

If you had to give a first homebuyer a single piece of advice, what would it be?

Don’t rush into buying, as houses are like buses and another one will always come along. Do all the necessary research and checks first or make a contract subject to those checks.

What is different about the HomeLegal service that makes it so popular?

HomeLegal are property specialists and a great team who all work well together.
